Akin’s areas of practice include civil litigation, alternative disputes resolution, criminal defence, immigration and refugee protection.
Akin graduated with Distinction and top of his class in his Diploma in Law programme at Osun State University, Nigeria. Akin also graduated top of his class with First Class Honours during his Bachelor of Laws programme at the Osun State University, Nigeria and was awarded overall best graduating student of his law class.
He did not stop there. Akin also graduated with another First Class from the Nigerian Law School where he served as group leader to Nigerian and Internationally-trained bar aspirants and was awarded the Director-General’s Prize for First Class students.
Akin obtained his Master of Laws degree from the University of Calgary where he assisted professors and served in different capacities.
Before migrating to Canada, Akin worked as an associate in a top-tier law firm in Nigeria. He articled in the legal and regulatory department of an independent electric system operator in Calgary and had his articling secondment in an internationally recognised law firm in Calgary.
